“Intersection” opening Thursday July 6

Jed has artwork featured in the group exhibit “Intersection”, presented by International House Philadelphia & Da Vinci Art Alliance, a renowned Philadelphia art collective, of which Jed is a member. . ” Intersection” illustrates abstractly or literally the point at which two things meet. Featuring DVAA and International House Philadelphia Artists.

The exhibition will be on view from June 30 – September 10, 2017 in the East Alcove Gallery, located in the public lobby of the International House building at 3701 Chestnut Street. Open daily 8am – 10pm

Opening reception will be held on Thursday, July 6 from 6-8pm

The Healing Arts Collective is located at 519 S. 9th Street (on 9th St. between Lombard St. and South St.), Philadelphia PA

This is a very special exhibition of local artists who vary in levels of career and artistic styles. The show features abstract and representative imagery of drawings, paintings, photographs and prints. This selection of artists can speak to their own personal healing in mind, body and soul. Their works of art are an essential part of their healing process in one form or another.

This event is a charity showcase, which raises Anti-Bullying Awareness and to raise money for The Center for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children.

This event will be held Saturday May 13 from 7pm-midnight at the Arts Ballroom, 1324 Locust St. in Philadelphia, PA 19107 (USA).

JED IS CURRENTLY WORKING ON A  SERIES OF MIXED MEDIUM ABSTRACT PAINTINGS ON VARIOUS SUPPORTS SUCH AS CANVAS, PAPER AND WOOD.   IN THESE NEW WORKS JED EXPLORES  THE  VISUAL SYNERGIES, CONFLICTS AND ULTIMATE DYNAMISM CREATED BY BLENDING  FORMAL ABSTRACT ELEMENTS AND THE EXPRESSION OF SPIRITUAL AND EMOTIONAL YEARNING.   JED CONTINUES HIS EXPLORATION OF THE DUALITY  OF JOY AND ANGUISH IN A COLOR/DESIGN CELEBRATION.

The Art Studio as metaphor for the Mind

After having shown at Projects Gallery in Miami during art Basel 2014 and the Indigo Bleu Design Center, currently Jed is working on a series of works on paper and other media, inspired by photos and direct observation of his own art studio.   In doing so he seeks to explore the duality and dynamic relationship  between an inner-directed artistic focus/mindset and the opening up of one’s consciousness when confronted with self awareness.  Stay tuned for further thoughts and images.

“Our Greatness, Our Struggle” group exhibit Feb.6-27

Jed currently has artwork on display in the “Our Greatness, Our Struggle” group exhibit at Indigo Bleu Design & Culture Center, located at 3911 Lancaster Ave., Philadelphia PA 19104.  This group exhibit explores the achievements and plight of African-Americans in the United States.  Other participating artists include Jerry Adam Puryear, Richard Tenaglia, Ellen Tiberino and Shanell Kitt.

This exhibit is on view from Friday, February 6 until February 27th.

There will be a free wine/cheese public reception on Sunday February 27th from 5-7pm.

Square Foot Art Basel Miami Redux

Jed will have artwork featured at Projects Gallery in Square Foot Art Basel Miami Redux, from November 22, 2014 to January 10, 2015.

Wynwood Lofts, Unit 208, 250 NW 23rd St, Miami FL 33127

During this year’s world-acclaimed Art Basel Miami, Projects Gallery will again create a mosaic-style wall in its trendy Wynwood Lofts gallery in the Wynwood Arts District.  Artists from around the world will be participating with over 200 works in all media – all measuring 12″ x 12″.  This square-foot format seeks to give exposure to familiar and unknown artists alike.
